ABOUT US

Mission Statement

Playhouse 395 strives to provide the highest quality community theatre through productions and educational activities for people in all life stages, and, to provide theater management services for the BUHS performing arts venue with long-term sights set on a new state-of-the-art Eastern Sierra Performing Arts Center.

History

Playhouse 395 productively served the Eastern Sierra Community as an unofficial non-profit theatrical organization from the early 1970s into the late 1980s. A renaissance of interest and energy in the performing arts resulted in the re-establishment of Playhouse 395, starting with our 2006 season.

Objectives for 2010

  • Present another season of shows and educational opportunities and continue to expand, if staff is in place.

  • Continue to develop the financial capacity to bring on full-time staff needed to actively develop the organization's mission.

  • Provide the community with increased opportunities in self-expression in the arts at our Performing Arts Studio and Box Office by continuing to collaborate with local dance teachers, and other performing artists.

  • Continue working to make the BUHS theatre the best it can be and offer a full range of theatre services to performing arts groups in all the eastern Sierra Community

  • Take the lead in building a Performing Arts Center for the Eastern Sierra Community in Bishop, CA.
